Movember, the annual worldwide campaign to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research and other men’s health programs, is about to wrap and 24 hours staff are already sharpening their razors in anticipation of its conclusion.

Some participants have endured friendly jabs from colleagues, while others have frightened bystanders who don’t know what to make of the scary facial hair. In the meantime, we’re still encouraging readers delighted by these mo’s to go to ca.movember.com and type VAN24HRS in the search field to donate to our entire group.

Carmine Marinelli

Vancouver 24 hours photographer

What he says:

“You don’t see it (the handlebar moustache) very often. It’s coming back, I guess.”

What 24 hours says:

Carmine is overly optimistic if he thinks he can spur a handlebar moustache comeback. Still, we’ll be sad to say goodbye to his distinctive mo when December arrives.

Philip Tan

Vancouver 24 hours general manager

What he says:

“It’s all about quality, not quantity. After all, every strand was hard fought.”

What 24 hours says:

It seems Philip has failed both in terms of quantity and quality, but we’re still amazed to see him turn those wisps into something with a little bit of thickness this past month.

Tyler Orton

Vancouver 24 hours reporter

What he says:

“Is this hipster enough? I don’t know how those guys in Mount Pleasant do it all year long.”

What 24 hours says:

Tyler just needs to invest in some moustache wax if he wants to maintain his hipster ‘stache until next Movember.
