MC2 a popular choice in south Cambie transformation 0
With elegant interiors and energizing, light-filled rooms, MC2 offers a brilliant formula for modern urban living. (SUBMITTED)
Single-family homes may be riding out a few ups and downs right now, but there’s one area of the Vancouver real estate market that continues to steadily grow. And that, of course, is condos.
For proof, you needn’t look any further than MC2. This south Cambie condo development, which will be ready for occupancy by mid 2015, only hit the market in October. To date, just under 400 of the 443 homes have sold. With so few properties left, the sales centre will shut its doors Feb. 4.
Mind you, that can’t all be attributed to the condo market. It doesn’t hurt that MC2 offers cutting-edge urban living, just steps away from the Canada Line Marine Drive station; this transit-oriented hotspot offers all the conveniences of living downtown but a fraction of the cost.
The suites left up for grabs start at $256,900 for one bedroom and $421,500 for two bedrooms. The spaces range from just under 500 square feet to just under 800 square feet.
Design wise, the elegant interiors boast light-filled rooms, Italian-imported kitchens, and from the upper stories, stunning views. The exterior will have a garden courtyard, a south-facing roof terrace with community plots and a communal greenhouse for year-round gardening. Celebrated author and artist Douglas Coupland is creating a public art piece for the complex to be unveiled this spring.
MC2 will also incorporate energy-efficient features such as a green podium roof, individual suite energy metering and Energy StarTM appliances.
In anticipation of the new residents on what must be the fastest-growing corner in the city, many retailers are planning to set up shop nearby.
MC2 is at 8160 Cambie St. The sales centre is open daily (except Friday) from noon to 5 p.m. through Feb. 4. For more information, call 604-638-9998 or email info@mc2living.com.
