Rectifying a Surrey jaywalking problem was among the recommendations at a coroner’s inquest Thursday into the death of Ashley Guiboche.

The 18-year-old was killed in 2011 by a speeding police cruiser near the King George SkyTrain station.

The jury ruled the death accidental and recommended an overhead walkway be built.

Other suggestions included better police driving training, reducing cruiser data terminal distractions and increasing the time senior officers ride with new officers.
