A steak knife was recovered and a 17-year-old girl arrested after police found her 28-year-old ex-boyfriend stabbed in the leg at the Gateway SkyTrain station platform on Friday.

The teen has been charged with assault with a weapon and is expected Monday at B.C. Provincial Court in Surrey. Both the accused and victim are not named.

Transit Police said the pair drank alcohol together that afternoon. She followed him onto a bus, began arguing, and broke into a fight with him.

He was stabbed in the leg. Police said she ran but was caught on the stairway of an emergency exit.

The victim was released from hospital Saturday, while the teen is behind bars.
