Police investigate burned body found in Surrey

By Michael Mui, 24 Hours Vancouver

The gender or identity of a burned adult body found in Surrey Sunday has not been confirmed by homicide investigators.

Police also haven’t ruled out whether the body was dumped at the side of Colebrook Road.

Police had forensic investigators on scene soon after the discovery near the intersection of 125th Street.

Cpl. Bari Emam of the homicide team said a passerby spotted the body and called police around noon. Investigators are unclear whether the person was slain at another location and brought to the roadside, or whether the act was committed on site.
