On St. Patrick’s Day, the Senators served up a pot of goals for their faithful.
The Senators ended their 11-game streak of one-goal margins in convincing fashion on the strength of Jakob Silfverberg’s two-goal effort with a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets Sunday night at Scotiabank Place in front of 19,227.
Captain Daniel Alfredsson and defenceman Sergei Gonchar also had two-point nights as the Sens closed out the weekend with back-to-back victories. Kyle Turris and Guillaume Latendresse also scored for the Senators.
