Fifteen games remain, 15 more opportunities for Kyle Lowry to prove that he’s capable of running an offence and, by extension, a team.
While much was made when the Raptors acquired Lowry from Houston, not much has been seen on the court, at least not when it comes to anything encouraging.
The good news for the Raptors involves the draft pick they sent to the Rockets, a pick that isn’t likely to come back and haunt Toronto when one considers how poor this year’s draft appears.
But Lowry’s stock has clearly dropped and the Raptors, among other issues, may have to take a serious look at the point position when this summer’s roster shuffling begins.
One has to admire a player such as Lowry for wanting to be the guy, the one who wants to have the ball in his hands and make plays, either for himself or for his teammates.
He was pining for that role and embraced it when he arrived in Toronto, knowing full well the club would eventually deal Jose Calderon and h
