Drew Barrymore and California grey whales
Barrymore's latest film Big Miracle sees her stepping in to protect a family of grey whales just off the coast of Alaska. Inspired by a the reallife rescue mission to save three trapped Californa grey whales who were on their way down to the Gulf of Mexico, you don’t have to be a Greenpeace activist like Drew’s character to give these whales a hand. They migrate past Mexico and California as part of their natural migration path and volunteers with Earthwatch can catch up with them in Southern California. Click here to learn more about this trip. Actress Eva Longoria headed to Guatemala on March 20 to discuss agriculture with local farmers as part of a charity mission.
The former Desperate Housewives star flew to the Central American country with philanthropist Howard G. Buffett.
The pair visited projects started up in 2008 by the World Food Programme with the aid of Buffett's own foundation, which aims to help poor farmers grow and develop their businesses.
The star took to her Twitter.com to post a series of snaps from her trip, during which she chatted to locals about the charity's new cacao initiative.
