The Three Brits Public House may be dark and cozy up by the bar, but don't be fooled – this English-style pub also has some bright and breezy summer seating, complete with a stellar view of English Bay.

One of the cheapest ways to feel like you’re on vacation in sunny Vancouver is to do brunch somewhere with a stellar view. The restaurants around the area of Denman and Davie are particularly great for capturing some of that seaside resort vibe. And now, there’s a new addition to these fine establishments. The Three Brits Public House (1780 Davie St.) offers brunch seven days a week, as well as a gorgeous view of English Bay.

While a big chunk of this traditional English-style pub is dark and cozy (perfect for winter months), the beach-facing section of Three Brits is an open-air space that’s bright and breezy.

In terms of food, they do serve some lighter dishes, such as berries and yogurt, but I ask you, why go out for something you can easily make at home? That said, if you’re on a strict health kick, go for it.

On the other hand, if you’re indulging in a lazy breakfast because you had a late one the night before, you might want to try the hangover hamburger. This grass-fed chuck steak patty comes with applewood-smoked bacon, cheddar, fried egg, butter lettuce, caramelized onion, tomato and a side of hash browns or fries ($15).

But if you just want to keep things simple, you can’t go wrong with a traditional English breakfast ($15). Here, you get all the usual suspects — eggs any way you like them, hash browns, toast and choice of sausage or bacon. But what makes this platter a bit of a standout is the bourbon-baked beans, a dish with a nice little kick. They also throw on a couple slices of super juicy roasted tomatoes — delicious!
