“Double transit fee” petition grows 0

A petition asking TransLink to redact its so-called “double transit fee” policy that would require cash bus riders to pay twice when transferring to other modes of transport had reached nearly 4,400 signatories by Sunday.
TransLink’s Compass Card system, when fully implemented, would mean users have to tap-on and tap-off with new plastic cards, which will be accepted on all forms of transit. However, the transport authority didn’t have enough money to upgrade its buses to dish out the new cards, and older paper transit passes won’t be accepted on the new system.
Many have expressed outrage through comments in the change.org petition page since it launched last week, with some promising to refuse to pay twice in the new system.
