A house fire next to an elementary school in Richmond Tuesday night revealed a home stuffed with 50-gallon jugs of chemicals believed to be used in making methamphetamine, according to RCMP.
Cpl. Stephanie Ashton said on Wednesday there’s no risk to surrounding neighbours, but investigators are looking for help to determine who was using the house, located next to Henry Anderson Elementary.
Mounties were called after fire crews doused the flames and went inside Tuesday night, around 8 p.m., discovering rooms filled with chemical containers.
“There’s nothing to indicate someone was seen fleeing the scene when Richmond fire (department) left,” Ashton said.
Mounties ask those with information to call 604-278-1212.
