Mental health champions Ginny and Kerry Dennehy celebrated their return to B.C. Wednesday after a three-month bicycle journey across Canada. The Dennehys pedaled nearly 8,000 kilometres from Whistler to St. John’s, N.L., raising more than $1.6 million for mental health projects.
The couple launched the Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation after losing their 17-year-old son to suicide. “Depression is just like cancer or heart disease in that it can happen to anyone,” said Kerry in a statement. “We want others to understand this and to not be afraid to speak up and ask for help.”
