Verve caters to first-time buyers in Surrey 0
Young home buyers face a daunting task when they set a goal to jump into the local real estate market without having to live in another time zone in order to be able to afford it.
Porte gets that. When the developer was planning Verve in Surrey, the idea was to offer affordable living for first-time buyers while maintaining easy access to downtown Vancouver.
Verve, which when completed will have 197 homes in three buildings, caters to young singles and couples with incentives aimed at making buying more affordable for first-timers. Struggling with a down payment? Verve offers its “flexible deposit program” that helps buyers build up a down payment while the homes are still being built.
And people who buy this weekend – during the grand opening of building two, known as Social – will get their first three years of strata fees for free.
Verve, located at 13931 Fraser Hwy., is a short walk to the King George SkyTrain station in the heart of Surrey’s Central City neighbourhood. The area is loaded with shopping, Holland and Green Timbers parks and a Simon Fraser University campus.
Suites at Social start at $169,900 and range in size from 516 to 1,121 square feet, with luxury touches that include nine-foot ceilings, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and bathrooms with deep soaker tubs. All units have balconies or patios, and buyers get their choice between two colour schemes.
Verve residents get an all-access card to a raft of amenities, including a full-sized fitness centre and yoga studio. Then there is Club Red, a lounge featuring a wet bar, billiards table, flatscreen TV, meeting room, and an outdoor patio with its own barbecue. Residents also have access to a guest suite for visiting family. Once the development is completed, there will be an onsite caretaker looking after all three buildings.
The Verve sales centre is open from noon to 5 p.m. every day except Friday at 10119 Whalley Blvd. in Surrey.
