Foodies have a Pleasant night out 0
@mashedthoughts: Chef Karen Barnaby prepared pink salmon with maple dressing and mango salsa at the 2nd annual Sustainable Seafood festival #thisfish #sustainability #salmon #foodporn #foodstagram #foodspotting #festival #instafood #food #van24foodie #gastropost (Gulf of Georgia Cannery)
Local foodies were out in full force Wednesday when Tasting Plates Vancouver came to Mount Pleasant offering a host of inventive and delectable dishes. Among the many highlights were a vegan sandwich, a @FliptopTruck sampler and a creamy miso chowder that put a new spin on this hearty seafood favourite. The next tasting extravaganza, the West 4th Edition, goes Oct. 6 in Kitsilano from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Around town, some of the food creatives experienced by our readers, included the lamb kebab wrapped in naan and butter chicken schnitzel at the Food Cart Festival, the Mexican roasted chicken at Eat Chicken Wraps, and the rather inventive, yet tasty, roasted fennel, sundried olives, feta benny at Slickity Jims. The Gulf of Georgia Cannery event was also off the hook as the sustainable seafood fest featured chef Robert Uy’s scrumptious smoked albacore tuna with scallop and crab XO, while chef Karen Barnaby served up pink salmon with maple dressing and mango salsa.
