Several artists will gather on Grouse Mountain Friday to help some of the wildlife living there.

The Artists for Conservation Festival gala will feature some of the top nature artists sketching live birds of prey, as well as dozens of art pieces for sale with 40% of the proceeds going to conservation efforts.

Among the artists expected to attend the event are Robert Bateman and Ed Spera.

The festival itself opens the following day at 10 a.m., featuring a full slate of activities for nature lovers.

The festival ends Oct. 6.
