With Stanley Park getting all the attention lately as Vancouver’s crown jewel during its 125th anniversary, let’s not forget the city’s other natural gem.
The city calls Queen Elizabeth Park its “horticultural jewel” thanks to the Bloedel Conservatory and some stunning landscaping.
Located 152 metres above sea level, the 52-hectare QE Park is the city’s highest point, offering stellar views of downtown, English Bay and the North Shore. Add tennis courts, a golf course and Nat Bailey Stadium — not to mention close access to the Canada Line — and you’ve got a pretty nice place to live.
Enter Empire at QE Park, a collection of condos and townhouses on Cambie Street, between 29th and 30th Avenues slated for completion in 2015. Designed to fit a curve in the street, views will include the park itself and the city to the north — especially from a shared rooftop lounge.
With units ranging from one to three bedrooms, Empire at QE Park features concrete construction and central air conditioning in every unit, as well as double-glazed windows, roller shades and a Blomberg stacking washer and dryer.
Kitchens include quartz countertops, Italian crystal lighting above the islands, full-height pantries (in most units), and an appliance package with Miele appliances and a built-in Panasonic microwave.
For the bathrooms, owners can choose between two types of stone slab countertops, with either light marble or dark travertine.
Residents will have access to a workshop and a fully stocked fitness club. A complimentary Telus package is also available, with telephone, cable and Internet for one year. All units will also have hard-wired smoke detectors.
The Empire at QE Park presentation centre is located at #130-555 West 12 Ave. For more details, visit empireqe.com.
