Empire at QE Park rules with prime position 0
Using a vehicle to get around Vancouver frankly can be a nightmare — even at the best of times.
With seemingly endless road construction projects, clogged freeways and parking rates that rival the Gross Domestic Product of some small African nations, it’s often best to just leave your vehicle at home.
Last month, a GPS company ranked Vancouver as the most-congested city in North America. That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but many drivers will still be nodding their heads in agreement. The developers of Empire at QE Park hope their project’s location just steps away from the King Edward SkyTrain station offers a better solution to driving.
Built with concrete construction, and LEED gold certified for energy efficiency, this collection of one-, two- and three-bedroom condos and townhomes is also on several convenient bus routes and walking distance from Cambie’s boutique shops and Oakridge Centre.
As the name says, Empire residents are next to Queen Elizabeth Park, which includes Hillcrest Community Centre, a venue built for the Olympics featuring a swimming pool, ice rink, curling and a fitness centre, among others. It also houses a Vancouver Public Library branch.
While the nearby fitness centre is nice, Empire will also have its own in-house club plus a workshop.
Slated for completion in 2015, Empire’s 172 units over three towers come in a range of sizes and shapes, such as three-bedroom-plus-den suites with long, curved balconies looking towards downtown and the North Shore mountains.
Interiors features include central air conditioning and double-glazed windows. Bathrooms have Duravit dual-flush toilets that save on utility bills without sacrificing performance, plus sleek Grohe chrome finishings.
Empire at QE prices start from $379,900 for a 469-square-foot one bedroom to around $1.3 million for 1,800-square-foot townhomes.
A complimentary Telus package is available, with telephone, cable and Internet for one year.
