What do Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have in common? No, it’s not their outdated romance or smoldering good looks. According to The Indian Express, these celebrities share a unique achievement — they are the two most Googled Bollywood personalities of 2013.

Preoccupied with his hosting duties on Big Boss (India’s version of Big Brother), Khan hasn’t appeared in a single film all year. However, it seems his affiliation with the sometime controversial series has been more than enough to keep him in the public eye.

In contrast, Kaif consistently created a media buzz thanks to her upcoming role in Dhoom 3, in addition to her mystery relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, the third most searched for male celebrity after media darling Shah Rukh Khan.

In the No. 2 spot among women is Deepika Padukone, the actress who captured the spotlight with four consecutive hits, including Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Ram-Leela. Riding her heels is Kareena Kapoor, even though her cinematic contributions in 2013 — Satyagraha and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein — might politely be called disappointing.

Priyanka Chopra took spot No. 4 thanks to her Exotic video featuring American rapper Pitbull, as well as a sultry holiday campaign for international clothing designer Guess, which made her the first ever South Asian featured in its advertising campaigns

Aishwarya Rai proves she’s still got it as the fifth most Googled actress, while Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan, respectively, seized spots four and five among the guys. Roshan’s achievement is no doubt attributed to the immense popularity of Krrish 3. Although it’s a safe bet that the demise of his 17-year relationship with wife Suzanne Khan also had a part of play.

Other men featured in the list include Shahid Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Varun Dhawant. While Anushka Sharma, Madhuri Dixit, Shraddha Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Vidya Balan round out the list for the women.

Bollywood gossip, guess who?

1) Why is Dilip Kumar involved in an ugly property dispute?

2) Why does Uday Chopra say he deserves credit for Dhoom’s success?

3) What has Susanne Roshan been doing since her break up?

Answers to Blind Gossip Items will be revealed next week on RJ1200's Mornings with Paras and Sharanya, at AM1200.
