Supermodel Gisele Bundchen made a cancer-stricken fan's dreams come true on Thursday by making a surprise visit to the teenager's home in her native Brazil.

The fashion icon stunned aspiring make-up artist Karina Xavier by turning up unannounced on the day after Christmas and agreeing to allow the 15-year-old practise her beauty skills on her.

They exchanged tips about make-up and modelling and Bundchen happily posed for a series of photos with the youngster, who documented Bundchen's visit via her Instagram and Facebook pages.

In one accompanying caption, the teen blogger wrote, "From the moment you surprised me, until the moment you left, I was so shocked for you being here with me (sic)! Thank you so much for taking time off of your day to come visit me and spend some time with me! Also thank you for your kind words and your very meaningful gifts! You are a great person and you will continue inspiring me I love you @giseleofficial And to my followers: Stay tuned for something special on my blog!!! I'm so happy!!!!!!"

Bundchen returned the compliments in her own snap online, with a message to the bone cancer sufferer which read: "You are (a) warrior, an inspiration of positivity and courage. I will be praying for you. Sending you love and light always".

The stunner wasn't the only celebrity giving back during the holidays - Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence paid a visit to patients at a children's hospital in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, while rapper Big Sean gifted sick kids in his native Detroit, Michigan with presents for Christmas last weekend.
