Rolston a custom fit for homebuyers

By Chris Campbell, 24 hours

Life in today’s condo market is all about choices. Developers know that discerning urban buyers demand choices, whether it’s the type of on-site amenities available or the retail shops attached to the building.

Rize Alliance knew this when it built Rolston, a 23-storey building at 1300 Granville St. next to the historic Yale Hotel that previously housed the Cecil Hotel.

The developer picked the burgeoning north Granville neighbourhood because it’s an area loaded with choices of things to do when the workday is done. Residents just have to decide if they want to take a stroll on the False Creek seawall, dine at an array of nearby restaurants, or go to the Commodore Ballroom or Vogue Theatre just down the street.

The choices continue when it comes to designing a suite, with two completely different planned interiors on offer. Each comes with three distinct material palettes to select from.

Kitchens come decked out with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops.

Residents can also choose from two outdoor spaces. The building’s unusual offset architecture afforded the designer the chance to add a 16th-floor terrace that’s designed as an urban park, complete with an outdoor bar, chaise loungers and west-facing views of English Bay.

There is also a rooftop terrace for residents to enjoy, with 360-degree city views, a yoga studio, outdoor dining facilities and community garden spaces.

While several gyms are located close by, Rolston has its own full-service fitness club. In addition, more than 20,000 square feet of retail and office space can be found at street level.

Space is also no problem for residents as there is plenty of room in-suite, while a downstairs storage space is available for bicycles.

Many of the 187 suites have been sold, but there are still several units available, starting at $339,900.

To see Rolston in person, you can view two show suites at the sales centre from Saturday to Wednesday, noon to 5 p.m., at 1325 Rolston St. For more information, visit or call 604-782-0821.
