After the off-season the Vancouver Whitecaps have had, the real fun — if it can be called that — is about to begin.

On Saturday, the club kicks off their fourth Major League Soccer campaign with their 2014 training camp as players will report for medicals. On-field training goes Monday at the University of B.C. before hitting the road in February.

As part of their pre-season schedule, which was released Thursday, the Whitecaps will train in Casa Grande, Ariz., Feb. 3-12 before returning to Vancouver. Their time in the desert will include a couple of games against the Seattle Sounders.

The ‘Caps will also play in the Rose City Invitational Tournament, Feb. 22 to March 1, in Portland where they will face the Timbers, the San Jose Earthquakes, and Jamaican side Portmore United FC.

The regular season begins March 8 when the Whitecaps host the New York Red Bulls at BC Place.
