Six TransLink bus routes under review
(CARMINE MARINELLI/ 24 HOURS)
TransLink is proposing to change up to six bus routes in five Lower Mainland cities and it wants your help.
The “service optimization” changes seek to take buses from less-busy routes to those with higher ridership. They would affect passengers in Richmond, Burnaby, Delta, North Vancouver and Vancouver.
“TransLink is committed to running an efficient transportation system, which means optimizing services and putting resources where they better match customer demand,” Doug Kelsey, the authority’s chief operating officer, said in a statement.
“Our goal is to balance the complex transportation needs of the communities we serve with the resources available.”
Four community open houses are being Feb. 3-13.
The Richmond forum will look at routes No. 404 and C96, while Burnaby’s will cover the No. 49 and No. 116.
North Vancouver will look at the C15, and Delta will discuss the No. 404 and the 606/608 Ladner Ring buses.
Submissions can be made in person or online. More details are available at translink.ca/serviceop.
