Richmond students will get an out-of-this-world experience next month when they chat with astronauts serving on the International Space Station via radio.
Up to 1,500 students from four schools will be communicating live with the space station and a feed will broadcast to seven other schools and online, according to the school district.
“This is a cross-curricular experience that is already connecting students and the community beyond the classroom walls,” said Erica Schmidt, vice-principal at Cambie Secondary.
The radio link was established through co-operation with the Richmond Amateur Radio Club.
