The Vancouver Police Department is investigating a recorded incident of two men being kicked in the groin for money as a criminal matter.

Video images, which surfaced Wednesday, show two apparently homeless men agreeing to allow a heavy-set man to kick them in the groin for $50 on Granville Street.

“Although a person does have the right to consent to being hit the actions leading up to and following the kick are being investigated as a criminal offence,” the VPD said in a release.

Police know the identities of the two men who agreed to be kicked. In addition, the man alleged to have kicked them has contacted police and is co-operating.
