Five things to watch in Sochi on Tuesday Feb. 18:

MEN'S HOCKEY

The most-anticipated tournament of the Sochi Games resumes Tuesday with four men's hockey games in the qualification playoffs. Slovenia stunned Austria 4-0 to advance to the quarterfinals, and other games are: Russia-Norway (7:30 a.m. Eastern), Czech Republic-Slovakia (noon Eastern) and Switzerland-Latvia (noon Eastern). The Swiss-Latvia winner will play Canada Thursday.

BOBSLEIGH

Canadian Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse will compete for a medal -- maybe a gold -- in the bobsleigh. Humphries was among the highest-profile Olympians heading into Sochi, having been featured in numerous print and TV ads. The competition starts at 10:15 a.m. (Eastern time).

SPEED SKATING WOES

Charles Hamelin entered the Sochi Games with some suggesting he may become the most decorated Olympian in Canadian history. He entered with three medals, needing four more to earn that distinction, but didn't come even close. After a disappointing crash earlier in the Games, Hamelin crashed again while comfortably in the lead of the 500-metre qualifying heat Wednesday and didn't move on in the competition. He won gold in the 500m at the Vancouver Games.

REDEMPTION

Despite Hamelin's fall, speed skater Marianne St-Gelais, his girlfriend and fellow Olympian, helped Canada win silver minutes later in the 3,000-metre relay. While the team finished third, second-place China was disqualified over messy hand-offs during the race. So, watch for one more public go-round in Sochi for Hamelin and St-Gelais, whose relationship has been popular with Olympic fans coast-to-coast.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY

Two qualification games are slated for Wednesday, though the results are meaningless. Germany has already beaten Japan 3-2 and Finland plays Russia at 7:30 a.m. The medal games are already set for Thursday -- Switzerland-Sweden for bronze at 7 a.m. (Eastern) and Canada-U.S. for gold at noon (Eastern).
