West Vancouver pedestrian crossing dispute leads to assault: police
A dispute over how a driver approached a West Vancouver pedestrian crossing this past weekend ended with a vicious assault, according to police.
West Vancouver police said they were told of the assault at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and brought to a parking area in the 800 block of Marine Drive.
“Police were advised a confrontation broke out between the driver of a vehicle and a pedestrian over the way the vehicle had approached a pedestrian crossing,” Const. Jeff Palmer said in a statement.
Witnesses told police the pedestrian spat on the driver’s car and the driver got out.
That’s when the driver was hit in the face, causing him to fall, and then kicked on the ground several times.
Police are looking for a suspect described as a white man, weighing around 220 pounds, wearing a black jacket, tank top and jeans.
