Patio hours extended in Vancouver
Yaletown Brew Pub patio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Monday May 6, 2013. (CARMINE MARINELLI / 24 HOURS)
Vancouverites will be able to chill out on the patio a little longer, once the weather breaks.
City council Wednesday voted to extend patio hours for a second pilot program starting this April and ending in October.
The program stipulates businesses with no complaints filed against them for the last 12 months will be allowed to keep patios open until midnight, instead of 11 p.m.
The first such pilot program last summer did not yield any complaints related to the extended hours.
