Speaker of House silent on spending habits of the BC Liberal MLA
Speaker of the House Linda Reid would not comment Tuesday after a news report revealed extensive spending by the BC Liberal MLA, including a computer set-up that cost a reported $48,000.
The story came out in the Vancouver Sun, but was not brought up in the house during Tuesday’s legislature session.
According to the Sun, more than $700 was spent on a snack rack for a private TV lounge just for MLAs converted from what used to be a section of the legislative library.
The Sun said another $14,000 went to new drapes for the legislature dining room.
The Ministry of Finance said it would not comment on the story because it is a legislature issue.
