Police are asking for the public's help after they found a mysterious four-block-long blood trail in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant area over the weekend.

Police said they are awaiting DNA tests on a “significant amount of blood” along 6th Avenue from Scotia to St. George streets. Investigators discovered the blood as they were investigating a seemingly unrelated incident Sunday, in which a man died.

“At this point, it’s a mystery as to where the blood came from,” VPD spokesman Sgt. Randy Fincham said.
