Gangster killed in Vancouver double shooting

By Ben Bulmer, 24 hours Vancouver

A convicted drug dealer is dead and another man is in hospital following a shooting in Vancouver’s Coal Harbour area on Monday night.

According to police, two men were shot while sitting in a parked car on Cordova Street near Thurlow at around 10:30 p.m.

Both men were rushed to hospital, where 29-year-old Tejinder Singh Malli of Richmond later died, and another 28-year-old man from North Vancouver is in stable condition.

Malli had previously served two months in jail and received a six-month conditional sentence for drug trafficking.

Police believe the shooting was targeted as both men have links to the drug trade and are associated with gangs.
