It’s not easy to get our heads around Fall when we haven’t even shopped Spring/Summer yet, but next week is Toronto’s World MasterCard Fashion Week. The biggest fashion event of the year in Canada, #WMCFW is where both established and up-and-coming Canadian talent get their chance to impress media, fashion experts and hopefully, sell pieces from their collections to retailers.

This year, we’re heading to Toronto to cover all of the action. Following the shows, we’ll have online clips from the top designer runway shows, interviews with the designers themselves, models, celebrities, and other notable Canadian fashion enthusiasts.

From March 18-22, 2014, 24 Hours Vancouver will be posting our videos at Vancouver.24hrs.ca/van24style. Here are some of the shows we’re most excited about:

For the guys:

Bustle

Since 2002, Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow have been dressing Hollywood celebrities and collaborating with big name partners (think Ritz Carlton, Audi, Vespa). Their pieces range from swimwear to red carpet looks. We love the attention to detail and how they never shy away from pattern.

Rudsak

Founded in 1994 by Evik Asatoorian, Rudsak is one of Canada’s leading fashion brands. Specializing in outwear, footwear, bags and accessories, their leather work and attention to detail is outstanding.

For the ladies:

Maison Matthew Gallagher

Nova Scotia born, Italian trained, Matthew Gallagher has been getting rave reviews from Canadian fashion media since his debuting his luxurious womenswear line in Fall 2013. High-end fabrics, bold silhouettes and high-impact presentations have landed him the closing spot at #WMCFW. The jewelry for Matthew’s collection will be by up and coming Calgary-based geologist and designer Lulu B Designs.

Vawk

Sunny Vawk’s luxurious ready-to-wear line has been hand-crafted in Canada since 2004. His Project Runway Canada win put him on a path to success, dressing women for events like the Cannes International Film Festival, the Grammy Awards and the People’s Choice Awards.
