A man “well known” to police was shot outside a home in Surrey early Sunday.

RCMP Insp. Tim Shields said in a statement that the shooting went down around 6:30 a.m. He said a loud argument outside a residence near 134A Street and 81st Avenue could be heard before multiple shots were fired.

“When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old man who had been shot,” Shields said.

“He was transported to hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.”

Police are looking for a brown van and a black pick-up truck. Both vehicles were seen leaving after the shooting — one of them has a broken window.
