New George Lucas studio in Vancouver a tribute to Hollywood magic
Industrial Light and Magic, the visual effects company founded by famed director George Lucas, opened its Gastown studio Monday — and it’s a man cave paradise.
The Water Street office boasts an impressive collection of movie memorabilia from Star Wars, Indiana Jones and countless other ILM movies. A life-sized Boba Fett guards a stairwell and a cardboard cutout of Han Solo stands comfortably at the front of the office.
Endless movie posters of everything from Pacific Rim to The Nightmare Before Christmas cover the walls. The building also features a bookcase that transforms into a secret door, a foosball table, cinema, well-stocked bar and rooftop patio.
