MONTREAL -

A man remained in Montreal hospital Saturday in serious but stable condition after falling from the stands during Friday’s exhibition game between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets at Olympic Stadium.

The man fell 10-15 metres from the centre field bleachers down to the concrete below.

He was rushed by paramedics hospital in critical condition.

After interviewing witnesses, authorities determined no foul play.

“We were able to determine that it was accidental,” Montreal Police spokesperson Raphael Bergeron said Saturday.

Bergeron added the man suffered head injuries.

A witness told CTV the man was trying to rally the crowd to do the wave when he climbed onto the railing, lost his balance and fell.
