A New Brunswick family bought two $1-million Lotto 6/49 tickets in less than six months.

Denise Richard and her brother Roger won their first cool million in the Nov. 27 draw. Denise, who lives in Saint Philippe, N.B., then checked a ticket she had purchased for her elderly mother, Evangeline, for the April 9 lottery and discovered another million dollar winner.

"To be that lucky twice doesn't happen often but it does happen. We're just really excited that it happened here," Manon Deslauriers of Atlantic Lottery said in a press release.

"I said, 'Mom you won the lottery. It's your ticket,'" Denise said. "It was hard for her to believe. It's sinking in now."

Evangeline, of Dieppe, N.B., said she plans to share her wealth with her family and is thinking about maybe doing something special for herself.
