Mounties in Surrey are looking for a car they believe was involved in the pepper-spraying of a man around 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.

The father was walking with his son and girlfriend when a dark-coloured Range Rover sped by and he yelled at the driver to slow down.

The car stopped and the man and the driver exchanged words before leaving the scene to return a few minutes later.

When the father approached the car again, he was pepper-sprayed and due to the wind some nearby children were also hit with the spray.

The father was treated at hospital and others hit with the spray were treated at the scene.

Surrey RCMP said they are familiar with the vehicle, which is usually the subject of speeding complaints.
