National Day of Honour: Canada honours our Afghanistan veterans 0
Canada will remember its Afghan veterans today.
Parliament Hill in Ottawa is the focus of a day of events designed to remember and honour all those who served during Canada's mission in Afghanistan. About 40,000 military and other personnel were assigned to our mission during the decade-long campaign to both deal with the Taliban and extremist insurgents, and help rebuild, educate and provide security for the country and its citizens.
We'll be following today's activities with a team of journalists from the Ottawa Sun, the QMI Parliament Hill Bureau and Sun News Network.
We'll kick off the live blog at 11 a.m. Events begin at noon and continue through the afternoon.
