Casey Kasem's whereabouts unknown 0
A Los Angeles judge has ordered an investigation into the whereabouts of TV and radio legend Casey Kasem following reports suggesting the 82-year-old has gone missing.
An attorney for the star's wife Jean claims Kasem, who suffers from advanced Parkinson's disease and can no longer speak, is no longer in the U.S.
Lawyer Craig Marcus told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy that he has "no idea" where the former Top 40 radio host is but explained he had been removed from the country.
The news is the latest drama in the ongoing battle between Jean Kasem and the TV and radio personality's children, who have complained that they have not been able to see their father.
I believe my father's wife fled the country (or possibly went to an Indian Reservation) with my Dad because (cont) http://t.co/J1DBwQ4sWC— Kerri Kasem (@KerriKasem) May 12, 2014
His daughter Kerri, who has been seeking a temporary conservatorship, was appointed her father's caretaker on Monday. Her attorney, Troy Martin, told the court the family believes the entertainer has been taken to a Native American reservation in Washington state.
Judge Murphy has ordered a court-appointed attorney to find out where Kasem is as soon as possible.
