Police released a sketch of a suspect in a daytime sexual assault at the intersection near Oakridge Centre.

The assault happened at 5:15 p.m. Monday and police believe the attacker — described as a five-foot-eight, white male with short, blond hair — was lurking in the bushes at Cambie Street and 41st Avenue when he grabbed a 22-year-old woman and threw her into the bushes and sexually assaulted her.

“This is pretty brazen and bold for it to occur during the day in a busy, well-travelled area for something like this to occur,” said VPD spokesman Const. Brian Montague. “She was visibly shaking when our officer spoke to her, obviously traumatized.”
