A woman that police allege attacked three young children after not paying her bus fare — by throwing a drink at an infant, kicking a four-year-old and pushing down an older child — has been arrested by Mounties.
During the incident that happened on the No. 502 near Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley, the suspect was also videotaped being pummeled by someone who appeared to be the children’s mother, who was yelling “don’t f---ing touch my kids.”
Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks said it all went down after customers interrupted the woman’s argument with the driver over non-payment.
She said police arrested a 43-year-old about 20 minutes after the incident and have recommended charges of assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Marks said the mother seen attacking the suspect in the video is not expected to be charged.
“The suspect threatened to kill the complainant and her children before throwing a drink at the youngest child,” she said.
“The two women began to physically fight. Both exited the bus and the complainant began walking toward the mall.
“The suspect ran after her and produced a knife, knocked over the complainant’s daughter (four years old) and kicked her other daughter (two years old) in the back.”
