Cops end vacuum dispute after 911 call 0
BARRIE, Ont. — A fight over the ownership of a vacuum cleaner resulted in a male being cautioned by police regarding the proper use of 911.
According to Barrie police, a 911 call was received around noon Tuesday from a north-end residence. Police say the call was made by a male who wanted police to settle a dispute about the ownership of a vacuum cleaner.
Police were told four male roommates had purchased the vacuum several months ago and now one of them was leaving and wanted to take it with him, or be bought out of his share.
The other three males disagreed, which police say essentially led to the 911 call.
Police reminded the male that 911 should only be used for emergencies, then helped settle the dispute.
