RCMP have made an arrest in a deadly hit-and-run accident that took the life of 16-year-old Port Coquitlam girl Annie Leung in September 2013.

After an extensive investigation, including review of video evidence, canvassing of neighbourhoods and the execution of search warrants, the RCMP arrested and charged 73-year-old Irwin Franz.

Franz was charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm or death.

Franz will appear in court in Port Coquitlam on Aug. 25.

On Sept. 10 last year, Leung was struck at Mary Hill Road and Pitt River Road by a black Ford F150.
