A pharmacy robbery at Oak Street and 42nd Avenue in Vancouver involved officers firing one shot at a suspect Wednesday.

Information was limited, but police said the suspect was followed by officers to 67nd Avenue where the shot was fired.

It is the second such robbery within the last week.

On Aug. 1, an off-duty Vancouver police officer helped nab two men fleeing in a car after robbing a pharmacy on Granville Street and West 16th Avenue.

The officer called 911 and followed the suspects after they robbed the pharmacy, at one point pulling a weapon at the off-duty officer.

As the suspect fled, on-duty police arrived and took the driver of the getaway car into custody, later arresting the gunman near West 4th Avenue.

The two suspects are still in custody and are known to police.

They are facing numerous charges including robbery with a firearm.
