Transit police say charges have been laid against a New Westminster man related to a stabbing on July 27 near the Edmonds SkyTrain station at 1:40 a.m.

Police said Blaine Dunn has been charged with assault with a weapon in relation to the incident.

Transit police alleged after the Celebration of Light that night a man and woman got into and argument with Dunn, who was with a man and another woman.

As the argument escalated police alleged Dunn pulled a knife and slashed the man on the arm before fleeing with his two associates.

Transit police said the wound required 15 staples.

The man and woman with Dunn were arrested shortly after and he was picked up the next day.
