A teen alleged to be involved with others in an ongoing Vancouver gang conflict has been charged for possession of unauthorized weapons for dangerous purpose.
The Vancouver Police Gang Crime and Major Crime Units have recently been investigating several violent incidents in Vancouver’s South Slope neighbourhood.
Crimes including shootings, assaults, arsons and acts of vandalism are believed to have been committed by two opposing groups targeting each other.
Officers arrested four men sitting in a parked car at an Esso station at Victoria and Kingsway Thursday night who they believe are related to the incidents.
All four men are being detained after officers found bear spray and a bag containing a .44 calibre revolver, a box of ammunition and gloves in their vehicle.
Nineteen-year-old Vancouver resident Jaskaran Singh Heer, alleged to be involved in the conflict, has been charged with possessing restricted weapons and having a firearm in a motor vehicle without authorization.
Heer remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
