About 30 people remain in hospital after a tour bus flipped over on the Coquihalla Highway last week, according to the Ministry of Health.
In a statement, Minister Terry Lake applauded the efforts of medical staff — who transported the 56 injured in the crash to five hospitals or more.
The most seriously hurt — six people were critically injured — were flown to four different hospitals and treated.
“Within minutes of the crash, health professionals who happened to be on the Coquihalla, including two emergency doctors, were at the scene,” Lake said.
“Ordinary British Columbians rushed out of their cars too, to help in any way they could.”
The investigation as to what led to the crash is ongoing, and Merritt RCMP said there were no updates on Wednesday.
