A British family faced a stiff challenge after discovering a swarm of infamous so-called “erection spiders” in the bananas they bought.

Also known as Brazilian wandering spiders, the angry arachnids have a poisonous bite that can trigger erections that don’t end. If untreated, the victim can be dead within hours.

Sophie Newcombe, 26, told the Daily Star she spotted a white sac on the on the side of a banana. When she dropped it the deadly creatures emerged. Her husband used a vacuum to get rid of the horrors.

The Daily Mail reports that until an antidote was discovered in 1996, 14 people were believed killed by the creepy crawlers. Those included two children in Brazil. A British man was hospitalized for a week after being bitten.

The supermarket where Newcombe bought the bananas has apologized.
