In The 6 with Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson
Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson talk Toronto. CORUS
Jason Priestley isn't shy about extolling the culinary virtues of shooting his latest Canadian TV series, Global's Private Eyes, in Toronto.
In fact, it sounds like the Vancouver-born, L.A.-based actor - who's also an executive producer and directed the first episode of the series'second season bowing tonight (May 25) - has eaten and drank his way through T.O. with his Private Eyes co-star Cindy Sampson.
"Separately and together," said Priestley during a chat with Sampson and 24 Hours this week in The Six.
Their haunts? "Bar Isabel. Bar Ravello [both on College] a lot," said Priestley.
Chimed in Sampson: "We like The Chase [on Temperence]. We like Aft [on Queen Street East] for chicken wings."
"Yes we do," added Priestley.
"Buca [on King]," added Sampson.
"All the Bucas [including the one on Scollard], all the time," said Priestley with a laugh.
Summed up Sampson: "I think if you name a restaurant in the city we've probably eaten there. Porchetta and Co. [on King and Dundas]. You better watch out because we're going to eat every last sandwich."
Priestly, who has been living in Toronto's Leslieville neighbourhood while shooting Private Eyes' second season, says it's a great HQ.
"I'm actually really digging Leslieville," he said. "But I like a lot of neighbourhoods in this city. I like Trinity-Bellwoods. I like Yorkville. I like Rosedale. There are a lot of neighbourhoods in this town that have a lot to offer. I like Queen Street West. There are a lot of neighbourhoods that I really like in this town."
Along with everybody else it seems? "The real estate frenzy in this city is like nothing I've ever seen in my life ever," said Priestley. "It's remarkable."
Our full sit down with Jason and Cindy will be featured in a future 24 Hours ... Stay Tuned!
