GOLLUM READS TRUMP TWEETS

Stephen Colbert is an avid superfan of the Lord of the Rings series, so he was incredibly excited to invite the voice of Gollum to his set on Tuesday. Andy Serkis, who brought the creepy character to life in the blockbuster films, arrived on the late-night host’s set to promote War for the Planet of the Apes.

But the talented actor took the opportunity to reprise the iconic voice for a dramatic reading of President Donald Trump’s infamous tweets. “Wait! What’s covfefe, precious?” Serkis joked while in character.

KERMIT AUDITIONS ATTRACT SPICEY

It’s the end of an era now that long-time Kermit the Frog voice actor Steve Whitmire has stepped away from his role as the lovable green Muppet.

With the position now open, Stephen Colbert made it his duty to help find another actor to take his place. During a round of auditions on The Late Show, everyone from Sean Spicer to Donald Trump to Ben Carson attempted to nail the role. And they all failed miserably.

“The American dream is dead,” may be something the POTUS would say but it didn’t earn him the job.

HARINGTON TRIES OUT FOR 'GAME OF THRONES'

At last, HBO’s Game of Thrones returns withe Season 7 this weekend.

While on his press tour to promote the show, Kit Harington stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to display exactly how he nabbed the role of Jon Snow with some satirical audition tapes. The King in the North showed off his range as an actor by attempting to channel his best Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei, Arya, Ygritte and even Harry Potter with a few comedic screen tests.

“When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to have sex with my brother,” he said as Cersei.

KATE UPTON SHOOTS DOWN COCO

Conan O’Brien wasn’t smooth at all when he used his Clueless Gamer segment to get closer to supermodel Kate Upton. While the point of the series is to try out brand-new video games and offer their critique, Conan had other plans than just playing Xbox game Cuphead.

The late-night host treated Upton to a candlelit dinner accompanied by a violinist. But Kate was focused on the prize and she shrugged off Conan’s creepy advances in order to beat him at his own game.

MOM, GO TO BED

While Canada Day and the Fourth of July may have past, Jimmy Kimmel was focused on celebrating another monumental summer occasion on his late show this week. The host pulled random people from the street for Jimmy Kimmel Live’s 11th annual belly flop competition.

“This started back in 2006 and from time to time people will ask me, ‘Why a belly flop contest every year?’ And to those people I say, 'Mom, go to bed, we’re doing this,'” Kimmel joked.
