Surrey RCMP are looking for a man who reportedly grabbed a 14-year-old girl near Earl Marriott Secondary school on Wednesday morning.

In a letter to parents, Earl Marriott's principal Claudine Davies said the girl was accosted by an unknown man in a nearby park while she was walking to school.

RCMP say the girl managed to free herself and run to safety inside the school.

"She was physically uninjured but understandably upset," Surrey RCMP said in a Tweet.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 30s, who stood 5-feet-9 to 5-feet-10 tall with a medium build. He was wearing a light green t-shirt, dirty blue jeans and work boots.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
